All / Holidays and Seasons / Summer
In the Cold War between the USA and the Soviet Union the rivalry of both nations and aiming for technological superiority led to the so-called space race. Whilst the Soviet Union took an early lead with the first satellite and the first man in space, the US responded by starting the Apollo program.
