October 7, 2015 The students at Naschitti Elementary School in the community of Naschitti, New Mexico waited eagerly to be greeted personally by Miss Navajo Nation Alyson Shirley, a guest invited by Principal Dave Goldtooth to speak at the school's Parent Appreciation Day assembly. Principal Goldtooth expressed that the new school building, finished during the spring of 2015, provides a pristine learning environment for the students and a centralized place for the community to come together. Naschitti Elementary parent Fern Cereceres attended the school as a girl and expressed her gratitude for the new building. Her daughter attends the school and has expressed that she enjoys the open design of the classrooms featuring more natural-light sources, as well as how the new building has served to bring the Naschitti community even closer together.
