Lessons with Pam - Halloween Fun_ Read, Make, Do
All / Holidays and Seasons / Halloween
Hi, my name is miss p.m.. I'm from building blocks, child development center, parents, been to West Virginia, and I haven't broken any cucumbers to play with you today. I wrote today is called fun. Except having a year. Jamie was having a Halloween party in all the first graders came. I got mommy, the pirates of bunny rabbit. Ghost of caterpillars. Skeleton. Pumpkin head, princess. So maybe a little bit back there. Looks pretty cool. Okay V was a ghost. Neil reads a Becky where parrots. Emma was an elevator. That is the coolest costume. I like that one. This is a great party, says ayanna. Wait, do you see the fun House? Said Jamie. Wow, said risa. Yo, Ho said the barts. Oh, please. Set them up. And they went through the door. It's your turn Hannah, said Jamie. The fun house did not look so fun to hammer. It was dark. And it was creepy. I want to go sit here. And that also do not. Um, said Jamie. What if we went together? That was very nice of him to ask if they'd go together. Jamie held Hannah's ham and they went into the fun House. Hannah felt a spider whip. She cried. The web is fake said Jamie. And the spiders are plastic. Put their hands in a bowl of goopy worms. Yum. So Hannah? Those are candy worms in Jell-O, said Jamie. Mmm, yum, raspberries of Hannah. Finally, they saw a witch. That is my mom said, Jamie. Hello, Hannah, said Jamie Paul. Happy Halloween. She gave Hannah a bag of candy. But one house was done. How was it, Hannah? Asked Jamie. Can we go again? How's Hannah? I did not know how much fun. I was missing. The end. And that is, we have this topic building blocks a lot. Especially about food. Because as they say, oh, no, I don't like that. I don't like that. I'm gonna have you tried it. Have you tasted it yet? No. Well, then how do you know that you don't like it? Yesterday, or was it too Monday? Funny, we had pasta salad. And it had noodles that had cheese and tomatoes and cucumbers. I had the pepperoni in it. And they're like, well, the noodles are green. And the noodles are orange. So those are green or noodles and the orange noodles are the same thing as the white noodles. And all those noodles, they're the same noodles. They're made the same way, taste the same. As the ones that are macaroni and cheeses, but yay. And you guys like pepper and cheese and spaghetti, right? They're like, yeah, we like that. That's it. Do you like pepperoni pizza? I like, yeah, we like pepperoni pizza. Some of that pepperoni. Do you like cheese cubes? String cheese, and they're like, yeah. Street cheeses, yummy. I said, that's the same kind of cheese in a pasta salad. But I don't care for tomatoes and cucumbers. I said, well, that doesn't mean that you can't eat everything else. You can still eat the noodles and the pepperoni and the cheese. If you don't care for the veggies, but now remember if you haven't tasted them, you don't know whether you like it or not. And we like to say that we don't care for something instead of saying oh yucky, I don't like that. Because if I say it's yucky and I don't like it and you've never had it before, you're like, no, I'm not eating it. Because if you don't like it, I'm not gonna like it. So we say we just don't care for it. It's just not our favorite thing to eat. And that sounds better than oh yuck. So, that's something that we do a lot as we have to try different things. We have to make one more. He's like, I don't want to be able to swing so I don't like the swings. Have you been on the swings yet? No. Then how do you know? Let's get on there and try it. Something new things, if it's a new thing, it takes a little bit of, you know, you gotta be brave and try some new things. Why is that doing things that are safe? Make sure it's okay with your family. But it's okay to try new things. And how about an event? I saw this the other day and I'm like, a brand new game. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if I want to do a new game. I mean, I like my old game. I don't know if I want to do that. Oh no. Let's try it and see if we like it. All right, so here we go. I have a spider web. And I want to put it on this piece of paper. This doesn't make it easier to see the color thought, you know. That's why our web zone black table, that's probably not going to work very well. So I have this piece at one paper right here. That will make it easier for us to see. And for our new spider game, we need some better spiders. Now, as far as our number on them, and they all have a different number. Now if you'll notice, my spiders don't have any legs. What am I gonna do about legs? That is my new game. Let's see if we like to play it. So we're gonna turn our spiders over this way, so we can't see the numbers we can't see the faces. And we're gonna lay our spiders, right there. Now, we need some legs. So our legs are going to be. So I've got some baby clothes in here. And I painted one side black. Yeah, there were stuff I didn't paint, but they decided different color. For another game. I don't know yet. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna flip over a spider, and we're gonna see how many legs that we're gonna put on our spider. Now we know in real time that a real life that a spider has 8 legs. Okay? But this is a game. So let's see. This spider is gonna have how many legs? Around the tree, around the tree. That's the way to make a three. So our spider's gonna get three legs, so we're gonna get our legs, one, leg, two, three, one, two, three, three legs. All right, I'm gonna go take our legs off. Come on the leg over there. And let's flip up the next one. And what number is this? Down around what the hat on top. That is a 5. So we need 5 legs. One, two, three. Four. One, two, three, four, 5. 5 legs will not spider. All right, so we're gonna take them off. We're gonna turn him down over there. And the zip. The next one. Around and back going real road track. That's the way to make a tube. One, two, one, each side. Two legs. All right, let's see what our next number is gonna be. Now, it's a number and it's got one underneath it. This is the way that we do number one and number 6 in our classroom. Because we would like to share that there's a lot down there because if you turn it upside down and you don't want it mom, it looks like a 6. So look at the lawn on it, so we know that the demand is just like this. It's like it's right in the written on a piece of paper, but I don't think it's a paper. So this is a hoop and long makes a number 9. So we need non legs. So let's get our legs ready. One. Two. Three. Four. For anything around that to go up, by the way, 5, 6. 7. 8, 9, 9 legs one, two, three, four, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. All right, now I would take them off. And this pinch and these clothes pins, this is really good exercise for your fingers. And it is fixed it easier than when it comes down to hold your pencil that pinch binge pinch with those pins make it so much better. Okay? Around like a circle. That is zero. So how may I like so we can put on this spider? None. Zero means none. He doesn't get any legs. All right, our next number is. Making this and don't be like go back up and shut the gate. And that makes the number 8. So 8 legs. One. Two. Three. Four. 5. 6. 7. 8. 8 legs. All right, now let's take them off and get ready for our next number. Next number is a one. How many legs do we get? One, one leg on our spider. Next number is across the sky and down from heaven. That's the way to make a 7 7 legs. One, two, three, four. 5, 6, 7. And the legs one, two, three, four, 5, 6, 7. Now I can have a full spider legs for all of them. And we can have spider leg on all of our spiders at one time, but that's a lot of clothes pins. And this makes it much easier to put in a little box. Okay, down across and down some more, that's the way to make a four. So we're going to one. Two, three, four. One two three four. Okay, our next number is. There's that line again underneath the number. Remember why? Because if this was something else and I got turned around, it would look like a number 9. See? I hope in the law makes the number 9. Down around. That's the number 6. So one, two, three. Four, 5. 6. And then I'm so excited. One, two, three, four, 5, 6. And the last one is. There's two numbers on that one. There's a one. Zero. And I wanted a zero together, right beside each other, real nice and close. That's the number ten. That means we have ten legs. One, two, three. Four. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Ten. Thin legs. All right, so at least put these clothes pins in back and forth on there. They do all kinds of things for your brain that you really don't think about. But it's women. I don't want that side. What do I gotta do? I gotta turn it over. And how do I get this up on there? Unless I do something else, what do I gotta do? Pinch pinch pinch. And that's all good for your brain, and for your hands. So there you go. All right. Well, that was my new game. Let me think. I didn't want to try it, but I didn't want to try something new. But you know what? I think I like it. I think I do. I actually have another new game. That's like this the other day with my kids. Miss penny found this one on Pinterest and it was so cool and it was so fun and the kids had a great time. Set off that I would just bring a play with you, they do. All right, so what we got here is we had a box of breeze. All kinds of spiders. And there's some bats in there too. It's actually a spider ring game, but I had a bunch of kids that day and I believe it or not. I didn't have enough spiders. So we had to put the bats in there. All right, so we got all these fires in. Before it goes to the playlist of the spider, okay? I just have ten fingers. So what I have here is I have a dice and this is when I got a Dollar Tree. And these are some spider stickers that I had and somehow ain't stickers that I got. So if you'll notice, this one has how many spiders? One. And this one has one, two spiders. And this one has one, two, three spiders. And this one has one, two, three, four spiders. So what do you think we're gonna do with this? Spider rings and a dice. Um. Well, you're gonna roll the ice and you're gonna see how many spiders that you have to get and you gotta get ten of them. All right? So we're gonna drop it. And then we're gonna count. One, two, three, three spider rings for miss Pam. One, a two, and a three. One, two, three. Do I have ten yet? Nope. I'm gonna get some more. All right, I'm gonna drop it and roll it. We annoy from me. Now, how many spiders did I have? One. I just need one. One spider ring. All right, let's roll it again. I'm not gonna need this sound. One, two, three spider rings. That guy get one on the thumb here. One. All right. A two. Great, go have ten yet. Nope. I gotta have some more, I got one, two, three fingers. I don't have a spider rings. All right, let's roll it again. And what do I got? One, two, three. I guess what? One, two, three. That's exactly what I mean. So I need one spider ring. Two spider rings. And three. Spider rings. And how many spider rings do I have? One, two, three, four, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, ten. Ten. Spider rings. And you know what? Now if you didn't have your socks and shoes on, you could probably have tins by rings with your nose. I don't know if I want spiders on my toes though. But there we go. And now, my hands are full. I'm done. I've played my game. It's a new game too. What do you think? It's me, isn't it? Now, I need spider rings. So everybody needs to wear right now. So it was a new day. And I tried it. And I think I liked it. I think I like playing with spider rings. And I think I put spider legs on the spiders. I tried something new and I liked it. Now, I'll cut your nails, take off my spider rings and put them back in the box. All right, well, that is it for me today. I hope you have fun. I hope you try something new this week. If you have been good ideas, let me know. You know, something that you tried that you like. Damn, I might like to try to. All right. Well, I'll see you next time. Bye.
