Classroom Brain Breaks - Human Knot

Name: Human Knot Grade:2-5 Time:5 Minutes Type:Small groups Formation:Holding hands in a circle Where/How:Standing in place Equipment: Music: To play during game if desired Directions: Students will be assigned to small groups of 4-6 Students will make a circle with their group. Students will place their right hand in the middle of the circle and hold someone else’s right hand (they may hold anyone’s hand as long as its not the person next to them). Students will then place their left hand in the middle and hold someone else’s hand. Once everyone is holding hands, students are to untangle themselves without letting go. Students can talk this through and step over and under as needed. As time permits you may join groups that are successful or encourage students to untangle silently.
