There are many things that affect black women's mental health. The term weathering, Weathering, and Black Maternal Health, a metaphor for what was happening to black women’s bodies as a result of the toxic stress associated with racial discrimination — a sense of corrosion from the constant stress that accelerates aging and increases health vulnerability.
