VIDEO2:y=4x+4 GRAPH Equation of a LINE
Algebra 1
GRAPH Equation of a LINE using the example y=4x+4 (video 2)
Our next example, Y equals four X plus four, please write that on your paper. And let's write the words and X to each number. So we have Y equals four X plus four. We know to circle our plus sign in our last number. This is our Y-intercept which we are going to place a dot.
This is a whole number, but remember slope is always a fraction. So that means that there's a number at the top, and there is an imaginary one at the bottom. So this look tells us to go up, four, since it's positive, and go over to the right one. So we're going to place the dot at four, go up four lines into the right one line.
So let's go back here, and we see that we need to place a dot at positive four. The slope tells me to go up four lines. One, two, three, four. The imaginary ones let's go over one line. Place a dot. This is our line that matches this equation. And we see that that is correct.
