Welcome to trend micro cyber academy, the place to learn the skills you need to keep the Internet safe and fun. In this episode, you'll learn how to keep your information secure on the Internet. Being secure on the Internet means that all of your personal information online is protected, such as your name, password, address, birth date, or photos. If your information is not secure online, some people could try to steal it from you or your family, cybercriminals try lots of tricks to get you to click a link or give away your personal information. You can practice good Internet security skills by doing these 6 things. One you strong passwords if you haven't already, check out our episode on passwords. Two. Stick to well-known websites, apps, and games. Do your homework by researching them online or check with a grown-up before using them. Three. Use websites that have a green lock or HTTPS because they are more secure. Four. Don't click on pop ups or suspicious text messages. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. 5. Use privacy settings on all apps and games and be careful about what information you share online. Check out our episode on privacy. 6. Ask your parent or grown-up to install Internet security software on your devices. This is a strong level of protection. So remember, you can practice strong security skills if you use strong passwords, stick to well-known websites, apps, and games. Use websites that are secure, HTTPS.
