Two factor authentication a tool that can help keep your information safe online. Keeping your information safe online means you can stop someone from getting into your account and stealing things like your game credit, photos or information about you. If you did the password skills challenge, then you already know that a strong password helps keep all your information safe. Strong passwords are long with a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters. But you can keep your online information even safer by using another tool. It's called two factor authentication, or two FA. Two FA means you need two factors or two things to access your account. It's like having two locks on your front door. It makes sure that the person logging into your account is really you. You can turn on two FA in the settings of games, apps, websites, and devices. By the way, sometimes two FA is called two step verification, but it's the same thing. If you can't find the two FA setting, ask a grown-up for help. Once you turn on two FA, here's how you log into your account. First, enter your strong password. Then enter the special code. This code is sent to you in a text message or an email. Once you enter this special code, your logged in. Even if someone else knows your password, they can't get your account without that special code too. Sometimes, instead of a special code, you can scan your fingerprint or your face. That's called biometrics. It means you use a unique part of your body to log in to prove it's really you. Now that's pretty cool. So remember, two factor authentication are two FA is one of the best ways to keep your information safe online. It's a tool in the settings of most games, apps and devices. To use two FA, you need a strong password and a special code to log in. Or you can use biometrics, which means you scan a part of your body instead of using a special code.
