Maze and cloze activities are effective in helping students to develop the semantic cueing system used for word recognition. They can also be designed to reinforce letter sounds and patterns. There are few (if any) commercial products available. As such, teachers often have to create their own. This short video provides some simple tips for creating effective cloze and maze activities.
