The popular bushranging ballad about someone with the initials JD : Jack Donahue, Jack Doolan, Jack Duggan, etc. Since singing songs about Donahue was banned for a time in the colony of New South Wales, I think this ballad was originally about Donahue, and perhaps went through later changes to include such persons as Judge MacEvoy.
