The Sharing a Shell Song
Educational Songs
Hello, I'm Julia Donaldson. This is my husband, Malcolm, and we're going to sing you The Sharing A Shell Song, which is about a little hermit crab who finds a lovely shell to live in. One crab Safe in his shell Under the summer sun Rolling all over the rock pool In his wonderful home for one Look! A blob A bright purple blob Please let me share your shell Give me a ride to look for some food And perhaps I can help you as well Two friends Sharing a shell Under the sky of blue Romping all over the rock pool In their wonderful home for two Look! A brushling Trying to get in Please let me share your shell Let me inside to suck up the scraps And perhaps I can help you as well Three friends Sharing a shell Down by the sparkling sea Rollicking all 'round the rock pool In their wonderful home for three But! What a squash The friends have a row The blob and the crab splits up Blob finds an empty ice cream tub And crab find a nice paper cup Two friends sharing no more Telling the world they’re glad Poor little brush does the housework And he knows that they all feel sad Look! A storm A terrible storm Crashing away all life The cup and the tub lie smashed on the rocks Oh what a terrible sight! But! One shell Shiny and pink Lying beside the sea Up pipes a voice saying welcome To this wonderful home for three La la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la Three friends Sharing a shell Happy as friends can be Rocketing all 'round the rock pool In their wonderful home for three
