Mrs. Nichols and Tops the Monkey read the book, The Hat. Basic reading strategies are modeled in this read aloud such as picture book walk and picture clues for children learning to read. The focus of this read aloud is in the areas of problem/solution and in making predictions. FREE download is no longer offered. Suggestion: Fold a sheet of paper, label on side problem and the other solution. Children are to draw an illustration for problem/solution. Allow students to use the book to help with their illustrations.
