The goddess test

Kate's mother is dying and wants to move back to her childhood home, which means Kate must face a new school with no other family or friends around while she worries that her mother will not live through the fall, but Kate is offered a chance to keep her mother alive longer if she agrees to Henry's tests, which would make her the future wife of Hades and a goddess, except if she fails, Kate must face the consequences.
