Refresher on the steps of regrouping when subtracting 2-digit numbers.
How to solve 2-digit subtraction using regrouping
First thing you want to do is look in the one's column
So I am looking at the 4 and the 5
And then you are going to ask yourself which number is bigger
Is there more on top
Or is there more on the floor
So there?s a four on top
And a five on the bottom
So since five is bigger, we will need to go to the next step
Regroup
Step 2, you need to take a ten from the 2 to make it 1
And add that 10 to the one's column
Making the 4 ones, fourteen ones which then allows us to subtract as normal
So then we can subtract, fourteen minus five which is nine
One minus one is zero
So the final answer in nine
And so that is how you subtract using regrouping method
