STEM Respiratory System Lesson

A description of a project-based assessment for the respiratory system that incorporates STEM practices including: engineering, mathematics, technology, problem solving, knowledge application, research, design, writing, etc. The lesson centers around students modeling a respiratory system disorder or disease and its treatment. Through this, students gain insight into the anatomy and physiology (correlation between structure and function) of the respiratory system. Students collect data on lung sounds, lung volume, air flow, and lung pressures.
