Science Lab Safety Rules
Elementary
Hello, and welcome to the science lab. I miss Newton the lab instructor, and I will be taking you on this trip to explain the safety rules for the lab. Do you know why safety rules are important? Follow along and find out. When first entering the lab, do not touch any equipment, chemicals, or other materials on the table until instructed to do so. Students are not allowed in the lab without a teacher present. No books, bags, or purses are allowed in the lab. No eating, drinking or Gump chewing in the lab area. No clowning around, pushing, or running in the lab. It is dangerous to your health as well as others. Stay in your assigned area unless you have been told to change stations by the teacher. Safety goggles must be worn if deemed necessary by the instructor. No exceptions. Long hair, baggy clothes, or dangling jewelry are dangerous. Pull back hair, take off jackets and remove your dangling jewelry. Never taste or smell any liquid or powder in the lab. Report a spillage or breakage immediately, no matter how small, and remain calm. Follow all written and verbal directions carefully, if you do not understand a direction, or part of a procedure, ask your teacher before proceeding with the activity. Report any cuts to the teacher, if it is minor, she will fix it. If it is major, you will be sent to the nurse. Always put lids back on containers immediately, and make sure they are secure. Always clean your area thoroughly when time is called, it should be as neat as you found it, or better. Now that you know the safety rules of the lab, I'm looking forward to seeing you for some experiments and inquiries.See you real soon, bye for now.
