ReServe - Attendance Success Coaches
High School / Fine Arts / Dance
Broward County Public Schools partners with ReServe South Florida for an attendance initiative for elementary students to encourage improved attendance. In the United States more than 6 million students are chronically absent. Chronic absenteeism is when a student misses 10% or more of a school year (excused and unexcused absences). This partnership unites a retired professional (that has been trained as a mentor) with children that have demonstrated at-risk attendance. In this video, we hear from two ReServe-ists about their experiences and how their relationship has had an impact on the school and their mentored students. Each Reserve Mentor works with about 20 students every week.
