Pumpkin Patch Kids | Nizhoni Elementary School at Sutherland Farms | Aztec, NM | CCSD
High School / Home Economics / Gardening
October 9, 2015 Cheers of merriment and play echoed throughout the air as Nizhoni Elementary's Pre-K students explored the various activities offered at the Sutherland Farms Fall Pumpkin Patch in Aztec, New Mexico. Not only did the students get to pick out and keep their very own pumpkin from the Sutherland Farms Pumpkin Patch, but they also went for a hay ride, played in the corn pit, got lost in the Maize Maze, and took a ride on the barrel train. Although a day packed full of fun was inevitable, these students were also able to experience concepts that they had been learning about in the classroom which included seasonal colors, plants, and climate changes. Principal Colletta Wilson and Asst. Principal Victoria Morse both expressed how providing these kinds of learning opportunities for their students is a priority at Nizhoni Elementary.
