Potato Diving
Science
Good morning everybody and welcome to the potato diving event in the potato Olympics. Today you will need a container of ice cream container would be fine. And then you'll need a bigger container to put that container in. The whole idea with your driving event today is to make the biggest splash you can. And you're going to catch the splash in this larger container. You need one liter of water. So use your measuring, just like we're doing kitchen, to measure one liter of water. Pop it in. Then, I've got a measuring tool here. This actually only goes to 80 centimeters. You can use a meter ruler. If you don't have a meter ruler, then you could use a smaller ruler to measure out to meter using some string or wool. Okay. So putting this top of your container. So your potato is actually leaping from the top of your measuring stick. Now, this is berry. This is Boris's little brother berry. And you see it's a sweet potato. Is standing in today in our diving event. So Barry goes up to the top of the measuring stick. Over your water. If I would be standing back, wow. That was a good one. If you had a bigger container than I have, you might actually get more splash. So I'm taking very out here. And then the water that's in here actually goes back into your measuring. That was a good one. And I can see on one side it says cups and this size, it says milliliters. That's what we're measuring. And that is 300 mL. That's the best one of all the practices that I've had. So you're going to do that three different times. And you're going to add your milliliters all together. Okay? Good luck with potato, diving.
