One Point Perspective Shapes
Fine Arts
Hello artists in this video you're going to be learning how to draw shapes in one point perspective. First you want to start with drawing your vanishing point somewhere in the middle of your paper. And then you want to draw your shapes in different areas of your paper. You should have at least one shape that is curved edges. I decided to go with an oval in this video. One of your shapes should also be free form or organic shape, and you should have about three to 5 shapes in total. After you have drawn your shapes, you're going to draw lines from the corners and or edges of your shapes to the vanishing point. I like to start with the corners, closest to the vanishing point, and then I start to draw a line at the shape and pivot the ruler until it meets the vanishing point and draw a line. You want to make sure that none of your lines are going through any of the shapes. So the line shouldn't be crossing over each other or overlapping. When drawing the lines of a curved shape to the vanishing point, you want to pivot your ruler from the vanishing point to the outermost edge of the curved shape. Now it's time to color in the shape what I like to do first usually is outline the edge of the shape and then just fill in the shape with the color. I'm using colored pencil today. You want the value of the colored in shape to be pretty deep, so you can add in the value later to the size of your shape. The value should get lighter as you get closer to the vanishing point. After I finish shading, I decided to go back in with a black permanent marker or a black pen to outline the shapes and the lines from the vanishing point. So that the edges were more defined. So if this is something you like to do, go right ahead.
