Natural Disaster Unit Final Project
Science
Have you seen this packet before? Of course you have. We've used this packet multiple times as we've been studying natural disasters. Within our packet we've learned a lot of information about our natural disasters, and written that, within each packet. Now we get to use the packet, and decide what information we would like to share with our readers. Yes, our readers. We are going to create a book. About one natural disaster we would like to write about. Here's an example. This book was about blizzards and is written by David. He has a title page to his book, and he's going to share all of this information with us. Some of the headings you will notice look very similar to what we see here in the front cover. He used causes. Some of the different topics that we talked about, as we were researching our natural disaster. Within his table of contents he has page numbers. We can go directly to page four if we want to know the effects of a blizzard. So it's kind of a nice little feature, especially since we've recently talked about nonfiction text features. I'm going to go through his books you have an idea of what it looks like, and every page he includes a hutting. He gives information, picture, and of course his page number. Now, what is a blizzard he did on page one, and page two, because he had so much information he wanted to share about it. He continues then with the causes, gives them information a picture. And his page number. Effects is on page four. His his information is picture, and he even provides a caption sign showing slippery roads. On page 5, how do you prepare for a blizzard once again information, picture, page number. On page 6, he provides a location, and he gives a little information most blizzards occur in USA, Canada and Russia, and he tried to provide some pictures here of each of those areas. The very last page of his book is a glossary, which once again is part of those non fiction text features we've talked about. As you think about words for the glossary, think about three words that you think are important for your readers to understand, so that they understand which you are trying to tell them in your book. I am going to help you out a little bit as you write your book. I will provide each of you a template. So you have a title page where you can type your title, type your name and a picture. The table of contents is provided, where you simply have to add in the headings and page numbers. On each page you can click write your heading, click right type your text, here's a place to add a picture, and we even have a place at the bottom to add your page number. So you are provided three different pages that look. Similar to this, a little different on each page to make it interesting. You even have some of the pages where you can write a caption. If you'd like to add more pages, feel free, it will be a great way to add some details to your book. The very last page once again, we provided a template for you to add words to your glossary and to place for you to type in that definition. I hope that you have fun creating your final project. Enjoy using this template to help you create a great book and have fun and be creative.
