The war bonnet is very important to the Native Americans because it is wandering ceremonies. The war bonnet is made of eagle feathers, which were earned by acts of bravery. In this clip, you can see two men wearing and dresses at their pow wow. The next custom that we are going to talk about is jingle dresses. Native Americans wore jingle dresses during ceremonies because they thought that it would all bad spirits and then it brought healing. If you listen carefully to the clip, you can hear the jingles as a man has tied around his ankles during this palette. The next custom we are going to discuss our moccasins, mock scents are what Native Americans wards protect their feet.
You could tell what tribe a Native American was from by looking at his or her moccasins. Next we're gonna discuss some tools that were important to Native Americans, like the teepee, the canoe, and woven baskets. First we will discuss TB's TVs were homes that the nomadic tribes used while traveling during hunting. They were normally made of buffalo skin and had paintings on them. Sand paintings were used by Native Americans and ceremonies for healing, but as soon as the ceremony was finished, the Native Americans destroyed the sand painting. Next we're gonna talk about pottery. Pottery is used to hold food in water and sometimes beads or other items. Pottery can also be used for ceremonial purposes. And the pictures on pottery normally tell a story about the tribe. The last type of art I'm going to talk about is jewelry.
Native Americans normally made jewelry out of Turquoise, silver, claws, teeth, bones, shells, and beads. Bear claw necklaces were made when someone hunted and killed a bear.
