NASA Microgravity Drop Tower - behind the scenes at the 2.2 Second Drop Tower
High School / Arts / Art
This video is a Destination Tomorrow show that explains how the 2.2 Second Drop Tower is helping researchers conduct microgravity experiments here on Earth. Some experiments are completed with multiple drops in this facility. Other experiments are developed here and then progress to other facilities for longer periods of microgravity, such as at the Zero-Gravity Facility at NASA Glenn, a sounding rocket, a microgravity flight on an aircraft, and/or up to the International Space Station. The facility is described here: http://facilities.grc.nasa.gov/drop/
