Learning and understanding Multiplication
Today I'm going to talk about multiplication and some different ways that we can see and understand multiplication. The problem we're given is four times 6 equals 24. We can view it as the commutative property and switch the four and the 6 and have 6 times four equals 24. We could have repeated addition, 6 plus 6 plus 6 plus 6 equals 24. We could do grouping. We could have one, two, three, four groups of one, two, three, four, 5, 6, blocks in each group, which would give us 24. Or we could have an array, one, two, three, four rows of one, two, three, four, 5, 6. So I hope that helps you understand multiplication a little easier. Thank you.
