Klara the Sun - BHS Book Club
Reading
Librarian miss Kean talked about the first book club is coming up on October 20th and the library.
Hey bears, it's miss Kean, your librarian. Our first book club is coming up on October 20th and the library. And the first book we're going to discuss is Clara and the sun. It's a great book, it falls in the genre of science fiction. It has universal appeal. I think a lot of people will like it. I think everybody should read it. Clara and the son, Clara is an artificial friend. She's like a robot. She is a robot, but she doesn't really feel like a robot.
She has human characteristics and feelings. And she's very observant. And at the beginning, she's in this store and she's very observant of the humans, walking by, and she wants to go home with one of them. It set in the near future. Where some humans have chosen to be modified for reasons of maybe raising their intelligence or fighting mortality. As a whole explores our use of technology, how do modern technologies affect how we act, our emotions, our relationships, our interactions with other people, our choices. But when I say AI and robotics and technology don't think all Dexter's laboratory, it's not a cold methodical read, it's warm, it's thoughtful, it's compelling.
It sure to target your heart and it certainly going to make you think. So get a copy of Clara and the sun from your campus library or buy it, bring it to school, well, read it, bring it to school on October 20th, bring a lunch from home. This is the one time you can eat in the library with me and join us for a discussion. I look forward to seeing you bye.
