Intro to Variables, Coefficients Versus Exponents, and Combining Like Terms
Middle School / Math / Geometry
This rather extensive video first tries to explain what a variable is. It then discusses coefficients of variables versus exponents, Constants are also mentioned. Apples and oranges are used as an example to try to explain how like terms can be combined. The fact that unit measures must be "like" (same units) before they can be combined. Finally length, area, and volume are used to explain that variables with different powers are not like terms.
