GOOD examples of BAD policies- Perverse incentives and why you learn economics

What happens when good ideas meet unintended consequences? The answer, perverse incentives. This is a quick list of some of the worst polices in modern times. They are not in any particular order and I obviously left out a bunch of other examples. Also, some policies weren’t all that bad, for example the Endanger Species Act has been successful in many ways and the Great Leap Forward was…well, I can’t think of anything good about it.
