Geography Map Rap- Ancient Greece

Hi! I?m the geography map rap lady. Today I will be teaching a map on ancient Greece. Watch where I point and repeat after me. Some of the names have been tweaked to help you learn the map. And the rap has a copyright. If you need to, replay at the end and go through it again.
In ancient times there weren?t any countries. So this wasn?t really Greece from the beginning. It was pieces of land. All of the red belonged to Persia. The purple also supported Persia. And the Greeks, the green, beat them. There are three peninsulas ? that?s a piece of land sticking out into the water surrounded on three sides. And three peninsulas brings me to Thrace. Three Thrace. This section here is Mac. Macedonia. And Mac has probably one of the more famous mountains in the world. If you?re up on your gods and goddesses ? Mount Olympus. Three Thrace. Mac with the mountain. This section here was called Thessaly. Thess. And this section over here, well, it has a really long name ? Peloponnesus ? so we are going to call it Pel. Three Thrace. Mac with the mountain. Thess. Pel. And the island down here is Crete. Hey! Just cause it?s fun.

Cross the Mediterranean for a big fat, well, it was a big fat Turkey later in history but before that it was Asia Minor. So from now on it?s gonna be a big fat Asia Minor Turkey. And when you get to that Asia Minor Turkey, you?ll notice that there is a flying squirrel over here ? Cyprus.

The cities are an easy task. Because they spell task. T-A-S-K. T for Troy. A for Athens. S for Sparta. And K for Knossos cause you wanna k-now it. K-N-O-W. And Knossos starts with a K and an N. But if I call it Knossos and you look at my list, you won?t find anything that starts with and N. So we?re gonna call it K-nossos cause you wanna k-now it.
