Visitors can experience multiple species of birds, fish, turtles and hundreds of free-flying exotic butterflies in the Florida Museum of Natural History's Butterfly Rainforest exhibit. Located on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville and part of the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity, the outdoor, 6,400-square-foot enclosure provides a peaceful environment with a winding path through a lush tropical landscape featuring waterfalls and a variety of plants. The exhibit offers daily butterfly releases at 2 p.m. and additional releases on weekends at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.
