This video enlightens the public on the intrinsic steps that American currency passes through during production. The designer first develops a design which serves as a template that will be used by the script engraver to imbibe the final design on a steel plate. The designing process involves 98% thinking which encompasses what you are going to do and how it is going to be when it gets to the press. The idea embedded in the designing of American currency is like a puzzle by bringing things together like eagles to make a united imprint to create something such as story. After the designing, it is engraved on a steel plate which will be used by the press to print the bills.

Meet Brian, He is one the banknotes designer at the bureau of engraving and printing. Brian Thompson (Banknote Designer, Bureau of Engineering and printing): My job is to design United States currency. One thing about banknote designer is 98% thinking; you are going think about what you are going do and what is going to work when it gets to the press. The easy approach about designing is a puzzle; you bring different pieces of an aspect of America or different thing and you fix it together to come up or make one united views almost like a story. Icon such as the eagle and print it on a note and its pretty awesome because you know, it is like your art work is all over the world. Once the designer team have finalized the design, Steel plate need to be created for the printing press. This is Dixie, she is a script engraver and she puts the finalized design in the steel. Dixie March (Script Engraver, Bureau of Engineering and Printing): The design has letters on it and also has numbers on the denomination. We have designers that try to make designs and my job is interpret their designs in steel. Printing script is very rhythmical. Just putting into the dilatory glass and leaves it as it cutting it. there is no too many artists that say they have a great replicated bunkum at hand. Once the print is created, the money starts printing, then create a piece breath, then close the background inducer printer, then it prints at the back of the face of the note. The final step is the pressing of the serial number and treasury and federal reserve seals. The it is printed, it is cut and packaged into bulks. The complete packages are transferred and securely stored at the federal reserve vault.
