Tips on how to have Effective Writing Skills
Are you looking for a way to increase your writing skills in just under four months? We'll keep watching because I have figured out 5 exercises that will help you start mastering your writing skills immediately. Hey guys, my name is Niko and welcome to intubate. If you were like, I was a year ago, then you can understand the frustration of wanting to learn how to write, but not knowing where to start and not knowing what to do. And I didn't know what techniques were needed to be developed in my writing. And that's why I took some time and I started developing little exercises, which improved my writing, and I figured out, wow, this can improve other people. And that's what I want to show you today. I want to show you 5 of the exercises I do daily to really increase my writing skills and my writing abilities online. So stay tuned and let's hop in.
So number one, you want to write a thousand words a day. I know. When you start writing, this is going to seem like the worst possible thing to do. And you're not going to be comfortable with it, but that's the point. When you start writing every single day, you start developing habits in your mind start thinking about ways to make it quicker. And to just start producing better content. And that's where we were going to get. When I first started writing, my first set out and told me I needed to write a thousand words a day. The first article took me a very long time, but then the second article got easier and that's the thing about it, the more you write, the easier the content gets and the better your writing skills would be. See, I can sit down at a piece of paper and just pump out ideas now. But if you would ask me a year ago or four months ago to do this, I would have been blank and I would have been so frustrated that I didn't really know how to write. But something you'll notice about it is you'll start getting confidence in your writing. And that's the biggest thing for writers. Because people can tell if you're not confident in your writing and if you don't know what you're talking. So you want to relay confidence in writing a thousand words a day is what's going to help you build that coffee.
So what you can do today is a sit down, take a piece of paper or just a Google document and just write right about anything. It doesn't matter here. I'll actually have some writing prompts later on in this video. So that was tip number one. You want to write a thousand words a day. So tip number two, you want to have fun with your writing. When I first started writing, I was a perfectionist. Whatever I put on that paper had to be perfect and it had to be perfect immediately. But I wasn't having fun with it because I wasn't tossing out creative ideas. I wasn't doing things to really progress my skills. That's why when you start writing just have fun, toss that ideas, try new things, and just really enjoy the process because if you don't enjoy the process, you're not going to want to keep writing and you're not going to want to keep progressing your skills. And if you don't progress your skills, you're not going to get better and then we're going to be back to .1. So actually what you can do today is sit down, get a piece of paper or your Google document since you're already writing a thousand words today, right? Sit down write one crazy idea you want to talk about and then put a thousand words down. Just write about it. It doesn't have to make any sense. Just keep writing so your mind just keeps blowing and building creative topics. So when you step back down tomorrow, your brain will start pulling little things that's already learned and it will keep progressive. So that was tip number two. You want to have fun with your writing.
Number three, write random words. Let me explain this just a little bit because it's going to get a little interesting and your viewpoint might not want to do it, but you need to do it. When you first start writing, you're going to want everything to be perfect. As I have stated before. And to really counteract this, you want to start tossing out different examples so your brain knows it doesn't have to be perfect and you can just keep pushing through. So what you can do today to keep practicing this is to get a piece of paper and just write down every single word that comes to mind. It doesn't have to make sense. Just think of a word, write it, think of another word, write it. Because when your brain starts noticing that you're writing a bunch of stuff on paper, that does not make any sense. It will go crazy. And you'll probably not feel the best when you're writing this, but as you keep going, you understand, it's not about being perfect at first. It's just about getting ideas down and really progressing. So actually, here's an example of mine. First two lines actually say toad Joseph Ludacris fish for I really do. See, when I was writing that, my mind was going crazy, and that's the same thing as you. But what I noticed is that when you start writing, it actually turns into a little bit of fun. And you're just like, oh, I wonder what word I can toss there. What would I toss there? That's all it's about, writing is fun, just as I've stated above writing these to be fun. And this is a way to have fun with their writing and just to get that perfectionism out of the way.
Here, I got an idea. So if we can do this together and really see each other's little progression, comment your words below on the little script you wrote with your random one word. So that was tip number three. You just want to write random words at times. Number four, you want to use a writing prompt. When I first started writing, it was so hard for me to think of different things to write about. Really keep me going and to really keep me learning about new things. So I started discovering writing prompts because they can move from horror stories to criminal stories to fun adventures to your wildest dreams. And that's what I love about them. They give you a little bit of information about characters, seeing various things that you can build off of. But whatever recommend with this is to take the prompt and just write a thousand words about it. I know a thousand is my benchmark. But if you don't have time to write a thousand by 500, it won't take that long once you start practicing some more. Remember, the main point of this is just to toss out new ideas and get your mind moving. So that was number four, you want to use writing prompt. Number 5, all right guys, this is the 5th exercise that you can do to keep progressing your skills. And it is the most important exercise that you need to be doing to increase your skills. You need to be practicing practicing practicing. And I don't mean one time, one hour a day, writing isn't about being perfect.
It's about getting your emotions and your thoughts on paper for other people to read. So you need to practice. You need to get new ideas out there because once you practice more, your brain will be able to pull little things you've done before. So when I write an article, I've had all this little bit of practice, so I'm like, oh, this works. Oh, that really works. Oh, that works even more. So practicing is going to create a little safe of ideas that you can keep pulling from. And you can make your writing quicker and better. And you'll start developing little tips to really keep you going and really make your content better as you go. And that's what we're shooting for is to make your content really, really good. So one really good thing about practicing is if you keep saving your work, you can look back in months time, like that's where I started and this is where I'm at. Let me keep going. In that momentum is going to shift you so much forward and you're going to get really good at what you're doing. That was tip number 5. You just want to keep prep. All right guys, that was the video and that was 5 ways that you can practice your writing today. Okay, I understand I've been gone for a few days and I apologize. So I'm back to uploading daily and daily content so you can expect more videos all week and all next week also. So if you liked the video, leave a like.
