This is a flipped video about division with remainders.
Good morning.
We are going to be looking at division, today.
I want you to watch.
So it says.
Jaycen has 14 trophies and 4 shelves. He wants to put the same number of trophies on each shelf. How many trophies will be on each shelf? How many trophies will be left over? Tell how you decided.
So I?ll draw a picture.
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
If you notice, one of these two are excess. Every other one has 3.
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
So my total here is 3 R of 2
Now, I have do it this way, 4 / 14. So 4 goes into 14 how many times.
So I would do 4 x 3 because I do not want to go over 14. So 4 x 3 is 12. I?m going to subtract this, 4 minus 2 is 2. So 2 is my remainder.
So I?m going to have you grab a worksheet at the back of my table after you watch this. And want you to work out the even numbers.
