CIW Internet Business Associate Lesson 3: Connecting to the Internet

In this exercise, students will review three different ISP’s to compare their packages and services*. Focus is directed towards understanding speed, wireless connections, and what would be required for each of the following: • A single adult who works remotely for a software development company • A family of four with two children in middle or high school • Small business (tax accounting, web design, or interior design) *Compare and contrast strengths and weaknesses of basic offerings. What kinds of email protocols are supported and which are most appropriate for each type of client and why. What support does the ISP offer for web sites and why they are or are not an important factor for each of these potential client groups?
