Basic Ag Science
Science
The first semester of basic Ag science focuses on agronomy, which includes crop and soil evaluation. Students complete labs and class to determine PH, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels of the soil. Then students work in the field to evaluate soil quality factors, erosion control, and land use capabilities. The second semester of basic Ag focuses on lie stack production and evaluation of cattle, swine, sheep, goats, horses, poultry, and small animals, in addition, students learn to evaluate carcasses and identification of meat cuts.
