Area and Circumference of a Circle
High School / Arts / Art
This video first describes the parts of a circle and very briefly mentions the first accurate estimate of "pi" which is the circumference of a circle divided by its diameter. a multi-sided polygon with 96 sides was apparently used. It then looks at the formula for the circumference of a circle and uses a parallelogram model to derive the formula for the area of a circle. Some examples of applying the formulas are given.
