Today we started estimating the products of two to digit factors. So for each factor, we're going to round to the nearest ten. And then multiply. And that gives us an estimate of what the product would be if we actually multiply them together. So over here, they rounded 38 to 40 21 to 20, and then this is mental math now because we know that four times two is 8, and then you just have to put those two zeros on at the end. Over here for number two, we would round 63 to 60, 19 to 20. And then 60 times 20 is 1200 or 1200. Because 6 times two is 12. And then again, you would just need to put those two zeros at the end. So just be careful that you're rounding correctly and that when you're using your mental math here to do 60 times 20, just be careful that you put the correct number of zeros at the end. So that is what gives you a good estimate of a product of two two digit numbers.
