Math problem and solution

Is H is equal to 9 parentheses or so here we know that parentheses. Means. To fly. Parentheses means multiply. So H is equal to 9 times four. And remember, if we don't know what 9 times four is, it's fine. What we're going to do is I'm going to draw 9 little lines, one, two, three, four, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. So we know we have over here. So we know we have multiples and I 9, ten, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 1920, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 67. 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 30, three, 34, 35, 36. This is 9 times one, 9 times two, 9 times three, and 9 times four, which is 36. So H is equal to 36.

Our next example, number 5. Is four B equals 80. So in this case, we will know that a letter letter next to a number. Means. Mo to ply. There's an imaginary little multiplication symbol here. And remember, if we're going from the symbol to the equal sign, we are going to multiply. And we can actually do the opposite going from the equal sign backwards, and we can do the opposite and divide. If we are comfortable with dividing. So I'm going to divide the 80 and the four. Put the 80 here, put the four here. Remember the first thing you do is just go ahead and write a multiple of four, four, 8, 12, 16, you underline the first number. Do you see an 8 or a multiple close to 8? Yes. We have 8 right here. So you put 8 here. And I go to the top. What number times four, what number times four? Gave you that 8, four times one, four times two. So two goes here, two times four gave you 8.

Now we subtract zero, divide, multiply subtract, bring it down. Now we have to have one more number above the zero. We can't just leave it there. So of course, four times zero, we gave us the zero. So four times 20 gives us 80. So B is equal to 20. Because four times 20 is equal to 80. So we're being used 20. Our next example. Oh, I believe that's it. Thank you.
