Drawing a lithium ion
Physics
Today we're going to create a model of a lithium-ion. We know that lithium-ion has three protons, two electrons, and four neutrons, so to build our atom, we're going to grab a proton, and another proton, and a third proton, and put those in the nucleus. We need four neutrons, so one, two, three, and four, and it doesn't matter where in the nucleus you put the protons or the neutrons. Our last step is to add electrons. We want to add those into the innermost energy level, so one, and two, and now we've created a lithium-ion with three protons and four neutrons in the nucleus, and two electrons in the first energy level.
