FIT FOR LIFE: EAT SMART & EXERCISE
Physical Education
Hi, welcome to in the mix. I'm Spencer. And I'm Demetrius. You know, a lot of people tell us that we should try to eat healthy and get more active. And they also tell us about what can happen if we don't. Like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Yeah, but how are you supposed to work out when you have such a packed schedule? And you know, it's so confusing about what's good to eat and what's bad to eat. We discovered that when we picked up a couple of drinks and started looking at the labels. So what'd you get? I got chocolate milk. I got juice, tropical blend. Except that the lime means that it's not all juice. How much juice is in there? It says now in the back on top so small there. I mean, it's 10% juice. Oh, and you thought it was gonna be healthy. I thought it was gonna be like, you know, healthy juice thing. I got mine because it has 67% more calcium. And then it has like oh my God. And then it said it has 37% less fat than regular milk, which is really good. And then I was looking at the label and it only had 5 grams of fat, and then like when you look at the serving size though, it's only one cup. So you have to double everything on this label. So it's really ten grams of fat. Oh, so it's ten grams of about 400. It's double everything from label. They tricked us. Is my makeup? Mine's cheap. Mine's chew also. Yeah. So it's like one quarter curly. You think it's just this little thing, but they couldn't double it. Who shares a little bottle? I don't know. How did you know that about looking at this label? Oh, actually, ever since I was younger, my mom always had me look on the back of them. So like whenever I got junk food and stuff, she'd look at it and be like, uh uh. And the story would have to spend more time looking at the label, basically. So another thing that I was taught to look at is on the ingredients. If you see something that you don't know about, and it's like way down on the list, there's like less of that. So the first ingredients you see, there's like a bigger quantity. Like in my chocolate milk, the first thing is reduced fat milk. Yeah, so the largest ingredient in there is reduced fat milk. So that means like the last thing that is very little of in the first it is a lot of. Exactly. So the third ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, and then there's super loose. And it says right here, the sugar, it's that adds up to 18 grams of sugar. And then you have to double that because the surfing says too. So that means there's 36 grams of sugar on this one little container. Should have got candy. Sweet. What's even a gram? Like, it's a gram like a spoon. All right, so our chocolate milk only has 28 grams of sugar. That's good. Actually, you have to double it. So let's just experiment with the sugar. The thing is that I have a lot of cows on it, so it's still good for you. But there's a lot of sugar in it. So maybe you should have milk. What can you drink? Water. There's no sugar in that. But I want juice, but this one had so much sugar and stuff in there. But not, well, if it's a 100% fruit juice, and that's okay. Because fruit has sugar, but if it's pure pepper juice, it's natural. And that's just hate for you. So basically, you need some sugar. It teaches us to school.
