The turtle had method makes multiplying larger numbers simple. Let's multiply 27 times 65. First, draw the turtles head. Multiply by the number in its neck. 5. 5 times 7 equals 35. So we'll write the 5 and carry the 30, three tins to the next column. 5 times two equals ten. And ten plus three equals 13. Now there are three important steps before we go on. Check off carried numbers. Draw a collar and lay a turtle egg, zero. Now we can multiply by the other number 6. 6 times 7. Some students have trouble remembering the product of 6 times 7. Let's watch a clip to see an easy way to memorize the fact. 70 to 6 legs walk into the zoom. How many legs? 42. Now we know that 7 times 6 and 6 times 7 equals 42, so we'll write the two and carry the four to the next column. 6 times two equals 12 plus four equals 16. The last step is to add. Now let's multiply 94 times 31. First, draw the turtle's head. Multiply by the number in its neck, one. One times four equals four. One times 9 equals 9. There are three important steps before we move on. Check off carried numbers, we don't have any this time, draw a collar, and lay a turtle egg. Now we can multiply by the other number, three. Three times four. Let's watch a clip to see an easy way to remember this fact. One, two, three, four, 12, or three times four. Three times four equals 12, so we'll write the two and carry the one to the next column. Three times 9 equals 27. Plus one is 28. The last step is to add.

The Turtlehead Method makes multiplying large numbers simple. Let?s multiply 27 times 65.
First draw the turtles head. Multiply by the number in its neck. Five. 5 times 7 equals 35. So will write the 5 incurated 30 pretense to the next column 5 rtimes 2 equals 10 and 10 plus 3 equals 13.
Now there are 3 important steps before we go on. Check off carried numbers, draw a collar and lay a turtle egg (zero) Now we can multiply by the other number. Six. 6 times 7. Some students have problem remembering the product of 6 times 7. Let?s watch the clip to see an easy way to memorize the step. 7 beetles, 6 legs walking to the zoo. How many legs? Forty two!
Now we know that 7 times 6 and 6 times 7 equals 42. So we?ll write the 2 incurring the 4 to the next column. 6 times 2 equals 12 plus 4 equals 16. The last step is to add.
Now let?s multiply 94 times 31 First draw the turtles head. Multiply by the number in its neck. One. 1 times 4 equals 4. 1 times 9 equals 9. There are three important steps before we moved on. Check off carried number, we don?t have this time, draw a collar and lay a turtle egg
Now we can multiply by the other number. Three 3 times 4. Let?s watch a clip to see an easy way to remember the step.
One, two, three, four, 12 and 3 times 4.
3 times 4 equals 12. So we?ll write the 2 and carry the 1 to the next column. 3 times 9 equals 27 plus 1 is 28.
